Doctor/ Give yourself a treat!

Friday, June 18th, 2010

It is no secret that you work long hours, sacrifice yourself, getting little sleep, and sometimes not eating or eating on the run. When there is such demand on your time, you must take care of yourself, set some boundaries to protect your health. Try taking 5 minute mini breaks through the day, make sure you get breakfast, lunch and dinner so that you can better do what you do best “take care of others”.
Ponder the thought of you in a relaxing atmosphere, a quiet place, beautiful music, if you like the woods, imagine you walking through a vast exuberant forest. You are breathing pure air and have noticed the beautiful sent of pine trees, soon you come to a small shallow creek and deciding to sit on a rock near the stream of clear water you take a deep cleansing breath. As you sit you are aware of the birds flying around and some birds playing near the water. As you look behind you, you are able to get a glimpse of a squirrel with reddish-brown fur and bushy tail enjoying an acorn, the squirrel sees you and quickly runs up the oak tree. You wish you had a camera to capture the view in pictures, however you did not bring your camera and you are now resigned to the idea of using your mind and your heart to keep the magnificent view in your memory bank. How refreshing it is to take time alone, so you can pull yourself together, treat yourself  you are worth it!

You can ponder and imagine a quiet time, what is more you should turn it into a reality by planning a mini-vacation to your favorite place, revitalize yourself for you, and by default for others.

Beyond Anxiety…

Friday, June 18th, 2010

When you let anxiety take control of your life, you have gone beyond your own boundaries, you are in a way insulting yourself, invading your own territory. Do not fear, there is a point of return, take a deep breath, find a quiet place, breath deeply and think. Anxiety is not your commander, you are the one in charge. Do not allow fear to destroy you and in the process cause collateral damage.
If you have not already done it, count your blessings, thank God for giving you one more day to breath, to walk, to use your arms, your eyes to see, your mouth to talk to someone, your ears to hear, you have a heart to pump blood through your body, giving you an opportunity to be alive. Do not allow your anxiety to take you to the wrong side of the spectrum, where life does not have a chance, do not even go there!
Sit down and take three deep breaths, or take deep breaths as you take a solace moment, you owe it to yourself, you are a valuable individual who wants more out of life than anxiety and negativity. It is not bad to be anxious when your anxiety is within the healthy limits. Do not let it get out of hand. You can do it , you can decide to be calm, so you can make the right decisions and continue enjoying your wonderful life. Share your calmness with others, let it flow out of you!

Possitively Angry, post anger!

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Diffusing anger is a conscious choice made by you and you alone. However the normal response to the perceived or real attack to your ego is anger. You will not benefit if you stay in that anger state. Anger is normal and very human, to be angry is also divine, God gets angry. When God gets angry He knows exactly what to do He is God. I figured that if it is OK for God to get angry, it is OK for me to get angry.
He says in the scriptures that you can get angry, yet not sin. He also mentions that we should get rid of anger, bitterness, wrath. He wants us to be loving one to another, tenderhearted loving, forgiving one another even as God in Christ forgave us. Turning your anger into a positive experience resides in your conscious choice. God gives you the creative power to do it, he has given you a mind that when used to its highest potential produces astonishing life transforming results. You can start by giving baby steps, when angry, if possible remove yourself from the situation, let your emotion be diffused by using some kind of exercise such as walking, running, jogging, swimming, if you are into cleaning, clean. All these activities help you blow out steam, transforming the anger into a source of peace and happiness, allowing your mind to replace the anger with love and kindness, forgiveness, thus helping your health and well-being.

Anger…

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Posing yourself the questions: Why do I feel angry? Do I even know?
You may speculate all you want, the truth of the matter is clear, you do know the answers. You know why you have allowed yourself to feel angry.
Is anger a universal emotion? Yes and No. Yes if it includes other emotions such as frustration, annoyance, contempt, vengefulnes, envy to name a few of the category members.

What makes you angry?

Deep in the core of the matter is the demeaning act. This is to say that we have been considered less than we want to be; we have been sent an attack against the “me and mine”, therefore as a result we have a wounded self-esteem.
If you analyse yourself, you can feel angry without being angry. Emotional feelings are subjective. Feeling is temporary, emotion is more abstract, it involves a subject-object relation to constitute the emotion.
What to do about your anger? You need your problem-solving behaviour to be generated or to kick in.
You do not want your anger to turn into emotional aggressiveness.
It is OK to be angry, to feel angry. You must channel your anger so that it travels an avenue that will convert all that bottle up energy into a positively productive expression of emotion. Avoiding in this manner a destructive outburst. Some activities that you may use as outlets to diffuse your anger could be: playing tennis, jogging, jumping rope, exercise, hiking.

Success is Freedom!

Friday, June 11th, 2010

How can you tell if you are successful? It goes back to what you are passionate about doing, enjoying, breathing, sharing. Knowing what makes you tick, and knowing the combination to the lock that can open doors for you. Where is the secret to success? It can be found in the knowledge that you can give up your own victim story, and now you can start taking responsibility for your actions and your words.
Success is also as T. Edison portrayed by the lightbulb 100001 trials. Edison’s experienceechoes that massive failure is the secret to success.
Sucess is you. You have value. God has given you a brain that is fenomenal, better than any computer. Everything you do starts in your brain. Your success is about 20 % of what you do, the rest or the 80% starts in what you think . In other words something you invent is constructed in your brain first and then externally expressed.
You can become free and be successful, successful and free, as you become aware of what is stopping your success and freedom.Remember that our actions and words affect people, we need to take responsibility for our actions and words . We can affect others as our parents affected us, but we are ultimately responsible. We need to understand the world and how it controls us, so we can gain personal freedom, we need to escape the chains of financial distress. Educate ourseves regarding how better manage our financial situation without blaming others for our condition

More on Taxes!!!

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

I was reminded this morning about the TAX CUTS ending soon! What a frightening thought. The whole country must do something about extending the TAX CUTS. When taxes are lowered or cut, investors are encouraged to do what they do best, invest money thus making more money. By January 2011, the Tax cuts that we had enjoyed will be no more, making it more difficult for those of us working, to enjoy our hard earned dollars.  In a real sense the economy will suffer overall, due to tax increases. Some people say that the increase is almost 40%, this will be unsustainable. This tax increase also discourages people and does not stimulate the individuals to work. We need to continue praying about this problem, also we need to include in those prayers the leaders of this great country. They need to have guidance from above to see a better way to proceed. A change needs to take place in the hearts of men, so they can make better decisions to benefit the present and the future generations. We can not allow the reckless spending of our taxes continue in this fashion, we are doing a disservice to our children and grandchildren! It is imperative that we do something about the tax increase coming to us , let us stop it!

Working is a blessing!

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Just about everyone can agree on one thing, that working is a blessing. There is something innate within us that calls for the need to do something productive. Working is that outlet, and that something that fills that void within the human soul. We must be careful, avoiding working in excess  turning  ourselves  into workaholics. Working in excess can destroy a family, when we lose sight of part of the reason we are working in the first place.  A good plan is to poise to live a balanced life by making the necessary adjustments as situations require.

When you have a job where you work for pay,  or when you have a  job where you volunteer and work  for no monetary remuneration, both of these circumstances provide satisfaction, and thus a blessing to the working man or woman.

We must strive to keep it a blessing to all involved. We do not want our family  to feel that  our  family life is  second to our work.  One way to ensure that we take time to be with our family is to set appointments. marking  them in the calendar, along with our work schedule,  making sure we do not invade our family time with work appointments. It is good to set boundaries, protecting in this way our family life, keeping our work at work.

Working, having a job is a blessing, as we keep it separate from our family life.

Celebrate Father’s Day!

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Coming very soon is father’s day, you do not have to spend a lot of money to celebrate father’s day.
Thank your father for his presence in your life. He really thinks of you every day, he gets up in the morning goes to work, so you can have a roof over your head, food in your tummy, clothing etc. He is a good provider, if you have a problem you can come to him for advice or at the least a suggestion. He has not bought everything you want, but has provided all your basic needs. He has showed up to your graduations, from nursery and up. He is a pretty good guy.
If you do not have any money to buy a small present, make him a homemade card with an 8X11 sheet, tell him what you appreciate about him, tell him how much you love him in your own way. It could be as simple as: “Hey, I just wanted to wish you Happy Father’s Day! Love You Dad”. These few words can warm up his heart, and really make his father’s day very special, pleasant, enjoyable, and will create an unforgettable moment, especially if you usually do not tell him how much you really love and appreciate him.

Create sweet memories for Your child!

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Many opportunities present themselves for your to create sweet and good memories for your child. It does not matter if your child is happy or sad. Think about what you could do to strengthen or enhance the bond between you and your child. If your child is sick with a cold, something beneficial is for you to make use of the old massage with Vicks Vaporub or Mentholatum, applying on the neck and chest Eucalyptus oil and camphor helps unclog the nose while the massage is very comforting and reassuring to the child. It tells your child that he or she is loved and cared for, regardless of how miserable he or she feels. You could say that this is an ancient healing technique that provides you with the tools to improve your child’s health and as a bonus bonding takes place. You bet he or she will not forget it, and in the future when his or her time comes to become a parent, he or she will draw this experience from his memory bank to take care of his own children. I dare say that when you are no longer in this world, this sweet memory will linger for posterity. When you practice crating memories for your children it becomes natural, you might not remember, but they will.

Creating good memories for your children!

Monday, June 7th, 2010

It is always good to spend time with your children, why they are the promise of the future. They are so precious, they do grow so fast. Next thing you know they are getting ready to fly out of the nest. While you have them, enjoy every moment you share,  and  enjoy every stage of their development. Continue to create memories for you and for them. Help them with their homework, math is one of the subjects they might need more help with. When you help them with math, this exercise   helps you keep your math skills sharp. They will remember your help and the way you help them solve the math problems, empowering them building up self confidence, decreasing  test anxiety, allowing them to pass the math test, with flying colors. Take time to help them come up with their own answer, give them the tools to solve their math problems. Give them encouragement, show them shortcuts to solve their math problems. Show them that math can be a lot of fun! Children are very inquisitive, and  they  like to learn new things, their interest grows when they understand what is presented to them, and when they feel good about themselves. Math is a skill that will help them through life, in just about every area.  Multiplication tables are very important to know, there are fun ways to learn. Check  this video clip out.
