HEART DISEASE? Avoid these foods…

If you have heart disease or want to prevent it avoid these foods:
Any product with a face or a mother such as: eggs, fish, meat, oils, canola oil, all oils. White rice, enriched flour, all nuts.

What to eat? Foods allowed: Vegetables sach as sweet potatoes, potatoes, broccoli, spinach, kale, asparragus, eggplant, artichokes, celery, onions, carrots, corn, brussels sprouts, cabbage, peppers, lettuces, choy, sewiss chard, beet greens, turnips, squashes, turnips, parsnips, cucumbers; as long as blood lipid levels are not elevated avocados are ok.
Legumes such as: beans, lentils, of varios kinds, peas.
Whole grains, wild rice, popcorn, cornmeal, couscous, kamut, whole corn.

Fruits: tomatoes, limit your fruits to three pieces a day. All fruit varieties are permitted.
Avoid drinking pure juices.
Beverages, water, oat milk, no-fat soymilk, coffee, and tea. A small amount of fruit juice in seltzer water. Alcohol in moderation is ok.

Find some interesting recipes. I borrowed this recipe from a book. If you like chickpeas try it.

Lori’s Hummus
2 19-ounce cans chickpeas, drained anf rinsed
1 12-ounce jar roasted peppers, including liquid
1 teaspoon ready-to-use chopped garlic, or 2 garlic cloves, chopped
1-3 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cumin.
Combine all ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth. Add a little water if the consistency is too thick. Enjoy!
