Pre-pregnancy

Every new parent wants to give their babies the very best and when it comes to nutrition this should not be any different. The best first food you can give your baby is breast milk. Breastfeeding is best for babies. Breast milk is perfectly suited and the most natural way to nourish infants and protect them from illness. Breast fed infants have lower rates of hospital admissions, ear infections, diarrhea, rashes, allergies and other medical problems than bottle fed babies. The protein in breast milk jump starts your baby’s immune system because breast milk provides the best nutrition and protection against infections. There are many benefits from breast milk that is not found in any kind of formulas. Breastfeeding significantly reduces the incidence and severity of diabetes, childhood cancer, obesity and asthma. It also diminishes a baby’s risk of allergies and lowers respiratory infections, bacterial meningitis, urinary tract infections and many other diseases.

Not only is breastfeeding beneficial to baby but it is very beneficial for mothers, too. It helps mothers get back to their pre-pregnancy weight by burning calories and helping you burn stored fat. It also helps to a quicker return of the uterus to its regular size. Mothers who breastfeed also have less of a chance of developing breast or ovarian cancers later in life and less of a chance of developing osteoporosis. The most beneficial benefit to breastfeeding for mother and child is the intimate mother-child bonding that is created during the feeding times.
